What to expect in 2020

Hello there, brave Arcadian explorers!

Now that the game has been out for a couple of months, and many of you have already enjoyed it thoroughly, it's time to discuss what the next steps will be update-wise.

While update 1.5 (out asap) will be focused on squashing a couple of nasty bugs - including the Palace of Courage one - and fixing some technical issues, we're already at work on the 2020 updates of the game. What do they consist of, you say? We can divide them into two main categories: "under-the-hood updates" and "content updates".

A big under-the-hood-update

The first thing we'll release in Q1 2020 is a massive under-the-hood update, with the main purpose of addressing the feedback we've received about the game and making Oceanhorn 2 the best it can be for all new players. This, for example, means opening up the ending and bridge this story to the one of Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas. It also entails making some game mechanics more transparent, adequately communicated, or easier to understand for younger or inexperienced players. And because we hear you, explaining the various control schemes within the game is part of that too.

Doing all these changes is essential to hone the experience, but if you've already finished the game? No worries: we plan to also add some meat to the mid-game sections of the adventure. However, if "new stuff" is all you care about, keep reading.

A big content update

While the first update will focus mostly on general improvements, the content will be the star of our second major update – this is where most of the "new stuff" will drop. You'll know this update is coming because it will have a name – we haven't settled on one yet, so let's just call it BGC (Big Content Update) for now.

While we are not ready to share what's inside yet, expect novel areas to explore and lore to unveil!

Is there more? Yes, there is, but you'll have to wait the new year for all the juicy bits. Stay tuned!
